ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico will experience warm and dry conditions on Monday, with temperatures reaching up to 20 degrees above normal in the plains.
Winds will increase across east-central New Mexico, particularly from Las Vegas to Clines Corners and east to the Texas border. Sustained winds will range from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. This combination of dry air and gusty winds will create an elevated to critical fire danger in the region.
A weak cold front will move south through eastern New Mexico early Tuesday, bringing breezy conditions to parts of central New Mexico. Moisture will increase across southern and southeastern New Mexico by Tuesday afternoon and evening, with the possibility of a few light rain showers.
