Mason (20-0, 17 KOs), 22, is the youngest male world champion in boxing. The Cleveland native captured the WBO lightweight title by defeating Sam Noakes this past November in Saudi Arabia.
Mason was originally scheduled to defend his title against Joe Cordina, but the British challenger was forced to withdraw from the fight on short notice due to a visa issue. The undefeated Bell will step in on short notice.
Bell (28-0, 9 KOs), a Toledo native, was already preparing to face Andy Cruz in an IBF final eliminator. Bell last won by decision over Keith Hunter this past August in Toledo. He is the WBO’s No. 6-ranked lightweight contender.
Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (17-0, 10 KOs) defends his WBC featherweight title for the first time against Mexico’s Rene Palacios (19-0-1, 10 KOs). Carrington became a world champion after earning a ninth-round KO against Carlos Castro this past January.
