LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Guests at Sphere are invited to dress in costume at three upcoming showings of “The Wizard of Oz,” the company announced Monday.

According to a release from Sphere Entertainment, guests of all ages can dress up for the 10 p.m. show on Oct. 30 and both shows on Halloween, as well as enjoy special treats.

Tickets for all three shows can be purchased on Ticketmaster’s website.

The movie is an immersive experience that takes audiences into the classic film, making them feel like they have stepped inside and are traveling down the yellow brick road with Dorothy and her friends.

“The Wizard of Oz at Sphere transports audiences into the Land of Oz alongside Dorothy and her friends,” Bill Walshe, Executive Vice President, Global Head of Venue Operations & Development at Sphere, said. “This Halloween, the magic extends to the audience itself – where we invite fans of all ages to join us at Sphere and showcase their best costumes.”

The movie is bringing in 4,000 to 5,000 fans to Sphere two or three times a day, with guests paying an average of almost $200 per person, Bloomberg said, citing Wolfe Research. Those numbers mean the movie is generating as much as $2 million a day, more than 85 years after it was released.

The show, which opened in Las Vegas on Aug. 28, had sold more than half a million tickets by the middle of September, Sphere Entertainment said.
