South Warren rolls past ACS

The South Warren softball team remained unbeaten with a 20-1 win at Allen County-Scottsville on Monday.
South Warren pounded out 20 with hits – with seven players recording multi-hit games, to cruise to the win and improve to 24-0 on the season.
“We started off slow,” South Warren coach Kelly Reynolds said. “It was one run the first inning, one run the second inning and then they were finally like ‘OK, let’s go.’ When we started, we kept hitting. Even the subs I put in for the other girls – just making contact, hit after hit after hit. I am really proud of them.”
Parker Willoughby had four hits and three RBIs, while Layla Ogden had three hits and two RBIs. McLaine Hudson had two hits, three RBIs, four runs scored and five stolen bases. The Spartans finished the night with 13 stolen bases.
Kaylee Wilson and Kalie Kuzma both added two hits and two RBIs.
Ogden earned the win, tossing three no-hit innings with six strikeouts and two walks.
South Warren is scheduled to play at Greenwood on Tuesday before hosting Warren Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Warren Central 18, Fort Campbell 17
Visiting Warren Central outlasted Fort Campbell in an 18-17 slugfest on Monday.
Parker Hawks went 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Lady Dragons. Charlee Bailey was 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored, Mackenzie Rose was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Shyanne Pasley tallied an RBI, five runs scored and three stolen bases, Maneshia Lockhart and DaYana Cofer each added an RBI, and Addison Walcher scored three runs and stole two bases. The Lady Dragons drew 16 walks and were hit by pitches eight times in addition to tallying 11 hits.
Rose pitched a complete game for the win, striking out six over seven innings.
Warren Central (1-6) was slated to host District 14 rival Bowling Green on Tuesday.
Greenwood 10, Hart County 0
Host Greenwood needed just five innings to put away Hart County for a 10-0 win Monday.
Cali Huff and Cadence Wolfe each went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Gators. Huff had a three-run home run, and Molly Spidel added a solo homer in the win.
Ann Rose Martin pitched a complete-game shutout, tallying four strikeouts, to earn the win.
Greenwood (13-7) was scheduled to host District 14 rival South Warren on Tuesday.
Butler County 13, Owensboro Catholic 12
Callyn Smith went 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and two RBIs to help host Butler County top Owensboro Catholic 13-12 on Monday.
Emmalin Mode was 3-for-5 with a triple, a double and three RBIs for the Lady Bears. Karrington Hunt went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, Brielle Belcher was 2-for-5 with an RBI, Tinslea Belcher and Madison Jones tallied a double and an RBI apiece, and Miley Franzell and Carly Cardwell each drove in a run.
Callyn Smith picked up the win in relief after pitching the final two innings.
Butler County (6-10) was scheduled to host Apollo on Tuesday.
Edmonson County 10, Owensboro 7
Kylee Williams went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to pace host Edmonson County to a 10-7 win against Owensboro on Monday.
Emma Davis was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for the Lady Cats in the win. Shelby Sowders went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Emma Price was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Brooklyn Carroll and Jolee Vincent each notched an RBI.
Carroll got the start in the circle and earned the win, allowing three runs (one earned) over four innings while striking out five.
Edmonson County (8-9) was slated to host District 12 foe Trinity (Whitesville) on Tuesday.
Logan County 4, Jo Byrns 2
Anne Owen pitched a complete game to earn the win as Logan County topped Jo Byrns (Tennessee) 4-2 on Monday.
Owen allowed two runs (one earned) over seven innings. She struck out five.
Kallie Taylor was 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and scored twice, Blake Curry drove in two runs, Macie Clinard notched a double and an RB, and Alissa Reding also drove in a run for the Lady Cougars.
Logan County (5-7) was scheduled to visit District 13 foe Todd County Central on Tuesday.
Franklin-Simpson 15, Warren East 11
Homestanding Franklin-Simpson battled past Warren East for a 15-11 win on Monday.
Kaylee Jones homered as part of a 2-for-4 day with three RBIs and three runs scored for the Lady Raiders in the loss. Tristen Lindsey was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Jordan Brooks went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Autumn Brooks notched a double and scored three runs, Adelyn Hendrick picked up two RBIs and Ada Childress also drove in a run.
Warren East (7-12) hosts Russellville on Thursday.
Franklin-Simpson (12-9) was scheduled to visit District 13 foe Russellville on Tuesday.
Russell County 5, Glasgow 4
Host Russell County held off Glasgow for a 5-4 win Monday.
Kerigan Hagan homered and drove in two runs for the Lady Scotties in the loss.
Glasgow (4-8) was set to visit District 15 foe Barren County on Tuesday.
Baseball
South Warren 7, Greenwood 5
South Warren rallied from five runs down to beat host Greenwood 7-5 in a District 14 matchup Monday.
Justin Capps started the Spartans’ six-run rally in the top of the fifth inning with an RBI single. Camden Page followed with a two-run double, Alex Miller notched an RBI single, then Jaxen Decker drove in a run on an RBI single as another run scored on throwing error in the same play.
The Spartans added an insurance run in the sixth on Capps’ fielder’s choice RBI.
Justin Rowland earned the win, while Owen Perkins notched the save with three scoreless innings of relief with six strikeouts.
Chaze Huff went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Boston Howard was 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Kioshi Une and Whitt Glosick each drove in a run for the Gators in the loss.
South Warren (10-7, 1-0 District 14) was set to host Greenwood (13-7, 0-1 District 14) on Tuesday.
Bowling Green 23, Warren Central 0
Bowling Green rolled to a 23-0 win in four innings against host Warren Central in a District 14 matchup on Monday.
Purples starting pitcher Grayson Rodgers fired four scoreless, hitless innings. He allowed two walks while striking out 11.
Jack Cowan went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs, three stolen bases and three runs scored in the win. Hudson Nottmeier was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, three runs scored and three stolen bases, Logan Johnson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two stolen bases, Rodgers tallied a double and two RBIs, Landon Gilbert notched a triple, an RBI, four stolen bases and scored three runs, Jaxton Runner added an RBI, John Mosley had a double and scored three runs, Ian Wells scored twice and stole three bases, and James Yarbrough scored twice and stole two bases.
The Purples were a perfect 19-of-19 on stolen-base attempts.
Bowling Green (17-1, 1-0 District 14) was slated to host Warren Central (1-12, 0-1 District 14) on Tuesday.
Barren County 4, Warren East 1
Senior Skylar Potter pitched seven strong innings to lead visiting Barren County to a 4-1 win against District 15 rival Warren East on Monday.
Potter earned the complete-game win after allowing one run off four hits and two walks while striking out eight.
Jaxon Vincent was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases, Gavin Coffey was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Colten Vincent and Jaxon Pierce each drove in a run for the Trojans.
Barren County (10-9, 1-0 District 15) and Warren East (6-12, 0-1 District 15) were set to play again Tuesday at Barren County.
Logan County 1, TCC 0
TySean Thomeczek fired a complete-game shutout and drove in the game’s only run as homestanding Logan County edged District 13 foe Todd County Central 1-0 on Monday.
Thomeczek pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out 14 to earn the win. At the plate, he went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Logan County (10-9, 1-0 District 13) was set to visit Todd County Central on Tuesday.
ACS 5, Glasgow 4
Wyatt Todd hit the go-ahead home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to lead host Allen County-Scottsville to a 5-4 win against District 15 foe Glasgow on Monday.
Carter Hodges went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Landon Martin and Keaton Haynes each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Scotties in the loss. Braylon Caldwell added a double.
ACS (8-10, 1-0 District 15) was set to visit Glasgow (12-11, 0-1 District 15) on Tuesday.
