A 59-year-old Slidell woman has been arrested for allegedly assisting one of the five at-large escapees from the Orleans Parish jail, the Louisiana State Police said Thursday night.
Connie Weeden was in contact with Jermaine Donald by phone before and after the escape, and investigators say she gave him money through a cellphone app after the breakout, State Police said.
Weeden was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on one felony count of being an accessory after the fact, State Police said.
If convicted, she faces a fine of up to $500 and/or a prison sentence of up to five years.
