SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man and woman are behind bars after stealing a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.
According to Sioux Falls Police Sgt. Aaron Benson, VCU detectives found a stolen vehicle and stopped it around 37th Street and Kiwanis Avenue around 3 p.m. The driver refused to get out of the vehicle and attempted to drive away, but couldn’t due to police surrounding the vehicle.

A passenger got out of the vehicle and was arrested. The driver got out of the car around five minutes later and was arrested.
The driver, Lance Tenfingers, 27, was charged with aggravated eluding and possession of a stolen vehicle. He is currently on parole for possession of a controlled substance, eluding police and receiving a stolen vehicle.

The passenger, Johnny Waters, 18, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
Due to the proximity of the incident taking place near Bishop O’Gorman High School/Junior High campus, the Sioux Falls Police Department notified its administration and the campus was secured for 10 minutes until the suspects were arrested.
