Silver Dollar City is stepping into the spotlight for a new holiday film. Production is underway on “An Ozark Mountain Christmas,” an original Christmas movie from Great American Media that will debut nationwide during the network’s Great American Christmas lineup in the 2026 holiday season.
Filming began this week after the theme park’s regular season wrapped, allowing Silver Dollar City to extend its signature Christmas transformation into January. With more than 6.5 million twinkling lights still illuminating the park, the iconic attraction has become a festive film set showcasing the same holiday magic that has earned it recognition as America’s No. 1 theme park holiday event in the country by USA TODAY.
The movie stars Brianna Cohen (“A Royal Christmas Manor,” “Saving the Christmas Ranch”) alongside Jonathan Stoddard (“Crossroad Springs,” “A Royal Christmas Tail”). Set against the park’s immersive 1880s-style backdrop, the film leans into old-fashioned traditions, live holiday entertainment and handcrafted details that make Silver Dollar City a seasonal destination for families across the region.
Adding to the authenticity, several of the park’s own craftsmen appear on screen, offering a glimpse into the real artistry that defines the Ozark-themed Christmas experience.
“Silver Dollar City is one of the most breathtaking Christmas settings in America. This film invites viewers into a real-life Christmas dream filled with light, music, craftsmanship and the warmth of tradition. An Ozark Mountain Christmas reflects everything Great American Christmas stands for: faith, hope and joy,” said Bill Abbott, president and CEO of Great American Media.
Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts President Brad Thomas said the project is a natural extension of the memories families have made there for decades.
“For generations, families have made their Christmas memories here. To see the lights, the laughter and the craftsmanship captured on screen is a meaningful gift to everyone who loves Silver Dollar City,” Thomas said.
“An Ozark Mountain Christmas” centers on a driven designer who returns to her hometown in the Ozarks for the holidays. While reconnecting with her family’s craftsmanship roots, she forms a bond with a local craftsman who helps her reconsider what truly matters in life.
Produced by Nicely Entertainment, the film will premiere during the 2026 holiday season on Great American Family, Great American Pure Flix and GFAM+.
