FAYETTEVILLE — Shreveport Evangel athlete Ashton Dawson committed to Arkansas to play fullback Friday.
Dawson, 6-2 and 286 pounds, chose the Razorbacks over offers from Florida State, Troy and others. He has yet to be rated by any of the four major requiring services.
He visited Arkansas during Wednesday’s 7-on-7 event which featured Evangel and 15 other schools. He played running back and defensive tackle for the Eagles.
Dawson had 2 carries for 24 yards and 2 touchdowns, and 2 catches for 15 yards and 1 touchdown as a junior.
He also recorded 103 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 3 quarterback hurries, 1 forced fumble and 1 blocked field goal.
Dawson the 22nd commitment for the 2026 class.
