EVERETT — Gunfire at an apartment complex in Monroe remains under investigation after law enforcement swarmed the area on Thursday evening.

Officers responded before 5 p.m. to the 18000 block of Blueberry Lane after a delivery driver attempting to drop off a package reported being shot at through the door of an apartment, according to a media release from the Monroe Police Department. No one was hurt during the shooting, police said.

Police surrounded the apartment and the North Sound Metro SWAT unit was called to assist in contacting the suspected shooter, the department said.

After reviewing video surveillance footage, officers learned a possible suspect had left the apartment through a back door before police got on scene, according to the release.

Law enforcement then cleared the apartment and found no one inside, police said.

A police spokesperson said the SWAT unit was on scene until about 11 p.m., before turning over the investigation to detectives who remained at the apartment complex until after midnight.

At this time, no arrests have been made, but Monroe police said the investigation is active and ongoing.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the police tip line at 360-863-4600.
