SHORE UP Awarded More Than $6 Million in Federal Funding

 

(SALISBURY, Md) – A local head start program is getting a massive amount of funding from Washington.

Congressman, Andy Harris’ office announced that SHORE UP’s Head Start program will be receiving over six million dollars from the US Department of Health and Human Services.

The funding will help bolster early childhood development programs across the Eastern Shore.

Congressman Harris spoke with WMDT about securing this funding for young children across Maryland’s first congressional district.

He says ,”Again, this is something that we needed to do. I’m glad we could obtain the funding. And, you know, I fully support the idea that we’re going to we’re going to spend these dollars to make sure that our young children on the lower shore and the rest of the shore, get the education that they need to get the right start for school.”
