EVERETT — Seattle marine dealer announced Oct. 5 that it acquired Everett boat dealer and service shop, Bayside Marine.
The acquisition allows Seattle Boat Company to expand its presence in the North Puget Sound and among its network of marine businesses scattered throughout the Pacific Northwest, according to a press release.
“Bayside has built something special in Everett,” said Elizabeth Bohling, co-president of Seattle Boat Company, in the release. “Their team has decades of experience understanding what North Puget Sound boaters want, from fishing and saltwater cruising to the service that keeps those boats on the water. That expertise is a natural complement to what we have built at Seattle Boat Company.”
The Seattle-based boater already owns boating businesses across Washington and in North Idaho, on top of Seattle Boat Company locations across the state.
The Everett acquisition will expand Seattle Boat Company’s offerings to the boating community.
Bayside Marine’s knowledge of outboard-powered boats, fishing and saltwater boating will add to Seattle Boat Company’s new-boat sales, pre-owned boats, inboard boats, watersports, service and storage, the release said.
Bayside Marine carries both new and pre-owned boats while being an authorized dealer for Yamaha, Mercury Marine, EZ Loader and Tuff Trailer, its website reads. Seattle Boat Company represents Cobalt, Malibu and Pursuit in Western Washington, the release said.
On the Everett side, the release said the acquisition would bring new boats to the city, such as Pursuit and Cobalt Coastal outboard models, and give customers access to Seattle Boat Company’s resources. This includes expanded indoor storage, a wider new boat selection, additional technical and administrative support and certified technicians for inboard and surf boats.
Bayside Marine declined to comment Wednesday, aside from noting that the previous co-owners put a lot of care into the business over the past 40 years.
Bayside Marine has been family-owned since the late ’60s, the website said. The Everett boat retailer will keep its local team and identity despite joining the Seattle Boat Company network, the release said.
