REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — The Sea Witch Festival may draw large crowds, but this year, organizers are making changes to ease one of the event’s biggest challenges: parking.
Festival officials with the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce have implemented new parking rules to address issues that have plagued the event in past years. In previous festivals, some attendees began parking downtown a week in advance, disrupting festival setup and causing problems for local businesses.
This year, however, Chamber officials are taking a more proactive approach. “We had parking spaces all week, no problem,” said Carol Everhart, CEO and president of the Chamber of Commerce. “Last night, if you left your car there, it was going to get towed. And I understand they had to tow several cars, but not dozens and dozens. Just a very few cars. So it worked.”
In addition to no overnight parking, officials are advising festival-goers to plan ahead as parking will remain limited during the event. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic and secure a spot.
