SDSU suffers first loss in Dakota Marker blowout

BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — SDSU and NDSU entered their matchup on Saturday as the top two ranked teams in the FCS. The top-ranked Bison claimed a resounding 38-7 win over the Jackrabbits.

North Dakota State racked up 500 yards of offense and held the Jacks to 166 yards. NDSU jumped on top early with three straight touchdown drives to open the game, while SDSU went three and out on its first three possessions.

NDSU quarterback Cole Payton rushed for four touchdowns for the Bison. Luke Marble completed just seven passes for 89 yards in place of the injured Chase Mason.

“Right now, this one cuts deep, as expected,” SDSU head coach Dan Jackson said. “Our players will respond the right way. I’ve got zero, worry about that.”

“When you devote so much time and effort into beating somebody, and it doesn’t go the way you want it to, it’s tough,” SDSU junior offensive lineman Quinten Christensen said.

The Jacks are back home next week against Indiana State.
