Satterly named CUSA Freshman of the Week

Western Kentucky’s Lauren Satterly was named the Conference USA Softball Freshman of the Week for the first time this season, the league office announced Monday.
Satterly helped the Hilltoppers to a 3-0 sweep of Kennesaw State and the first 15-0 home conference record in CUSA history behind a .571 batting average, going 4-for-7 at the plate with a double and three singles.
The freshman also posted a .727 on-base percentage thanks to three walks, one hit-by-pitch and her four total hits. Satterly also never struck out in her 11 total plate appearances.
Satterly’s best game was Friday when she went 2-for-3 at the plate and recorded one RBI. Of the 33 runs scored by WKU over the weekend, she drove in four while scoring six herself.
She finished the weekend going a perfect 2-for-2 with runners in scoring position and was 5-for-6 when in a situation to advance runners. Satterly also posted a team-high four RBIs collected with two outs.
