CARY, N.C. (WPRI) — Rhode Island FC are heading back to the USL Eastern Conference Finals after defeating North Carolina FC in a playoff matchup Saturday night.
RIFC won the game 2-0 after forward Albert Dikwa scored a goal in the 81st and 93rd minutes.
The team’s win also comes a week after winning an upset against Charleston Battery.

Last year, the team made it all the way to the USL championship game, losing to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
Next weekend the team will play whoever wins an Eastern Conference Finals matchup between Detroit City FC and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
