GRANTHAM — During Tuesday night’s floor meeting, voters approved all articles save one that would have discontinued a land preservation fund.
They approved an article calling on the New Hampshire Legislature to protect local taxpayers by ensuring adequate state revenues for essential services, and by avoiding policies that shift costs onto local property tax payers.
They also approved a municipal budget of $5.5 million, up from $5.3 million last year.
By ballot, voters settled a contested Selectboard race, approved three zoning articles and elected a School Board member in an uncontested race.
Thomas Shemanske won a three-year term on the Selectboard over Hrant Jamgochian, 187 to 34.
One zoning amendment rezoned four town-owned properties along the Sawyer Brook Headwaters from Rural Residential to Forest Lands Conservation District.
Another rezoned two parcels owned by the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust from Rural Residential to Forest Lands Conservation District.
The third seeks to bring the town into compliance with state law by allowing accessory dwelling units in the Rural Residential and Central Village districts.
Jillian Belmont won a three-year term on the School Board.
Last week, voters approved a nearly $13 million school budget.
