Hawaii’s Cha’lei Reid put down the final three kills in the second set and added seven of her match-high 14 in the third to help the Rainbow Wahine sweep Cal State Fullerton 25-19, 30-28, 25-14 tonight at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
Bri Gunderson added 13 kills and Victoria Leyva had a match-high 20 digs to help Hawaii (8-13, 4-6 Big West) move into a sixth-place tie with UC Irvine in the conference with eight matches remaining.
Miliana Sylvester added nine kills, including the match-winner, and three blocks, and Adrianna Arquette dished out a match-high 37 assists for the Rainbow Wahine, who outdug the Titans 62-42.
Marisa Nakata, a Hawaii Baptist alumna, had a team-high 10 digs and five kills for Cal State Fullerton (8-14, 2-8).
Hawaii has won all 52 meetings between the two programs.
UH returns to the road for its next two matches, beginning Thursday at UC Davis.
