INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Record setting warmth will continue on Tuesday before rain & storm chances return. Fall-like weather remains on track for the end of the week and coming weekend.
MONDAY NIGHT:
Mostly clear and very mild for October. Lows look to be in the mid to upper 60s. The record warm low temperature in Indy for October 13th is 64, set in 1879.
TUESDAY:
Mostly sunny to partly cloudy, breezy, and very warm. Highs in the mid 80s to lower 90s. The old record high in Indy is 86, set back in 1975. We expect that to be broken.
TUESDAY NIGHT:
A frontal boundary will slowly move in from the northwest and the chance of rain & thunder will increase. Temperatures are going to remain very mild with lows in the mid to upper 60s once again.
WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY:
A front will linger across the region and it will initiate scattered rain & storms. Areas of locally heavy rain could occur at some point. A few strong storms can’t be totally ruled out, but widespread activity like that seems unlikely at this time. Above average highs in the 70s continue with lows in the 60s.
FRIDAY:
Fair skies return, but gusty winds from the NW will bring the fall feel back to Indiana. Some gusts could be 30-40 mph. Highs in the 60s are likely early, but it’ll feel much cooler with the breezes. You’ll need to dress in layers for high school football.
WEEKEND:
Canadian high pressure will move across Indiana, brining lots of sunshine along with crisp, cool fall air. Some of us may get frost Saturday morning, but a more widespread frost/freeze threat is on the table for Sunday morning. Highs Saturday look to stay in the 50s in most spots. Highs in the 60s should return on Sunday.
