Record Warmth Fuels Fire Danger Monday

A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect until 6pm due to dry vegetation, gusty winds, and very low humidity. Fire danger will be elevated—use extra caution! A cold front moves through Monday night bringing cooler air!

Today brings record-breaking warmth across Nebraska. Highs will soar into the 60s and 70s under mostly sunny skies, with windy conditions. A spot or two could see an 80 degree day!!

Gusty SW winds will gust to around 35-45+ mph this afternoon. Western Nebraska could see gusts up to 50+ mph. These winds are helping with the record warmth!

Many of us will break records set back from the 1950s!

Today will be very mild and breezy. A cold front moves through overnight bringing cooler air. This week will stay well above average with a few light RAIN chances through Saturday. Next week brings warmer air and potentially more rain chances!
