This afternoon you have Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid facing off with Aleksandar Mitrovic and Al Hilal at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The June 18 match will begin at 3 p.m. Eastern.

Throughout the month of May, Real Madrid won three of their six matches. Despite this, sitting with a record of 26-6-6 they further show why they hold onto the second place spot in the Spanish LaLiga.
When it comes to the FIFA Club World Cup play, the club has had some good history in the event. Five times they have walked away champions of the whole thing, the most recent coming in 2022, ironically vs. Al Hilal. Also, they have never left as runner-up.
They will play in Group H, which features Al Hilal, Pachuca, and RB Salzburg.
Real Madrid players to watch
Kylian Mbappé
One of the world’s best players was dominating May with nine goals in the month alone, which increases his goal count to 31 so far on the season.
Not only do his 31 goals lead the whole league, but he also is in first place in total shots (85).
Mbappé could do better in terms of limiting his offsides, accounting for a league-leading 44 offsides at the moment. Though that could just be the cost of his aggressive play, which has led to a staggering amount of goals for his team, and helped further the winning.
Vinícius Júnior
Since Júnior joined Real Madrid in 2018, he has been a pivotal part of their success. He sits behind Mbappé with 11 goals and eight assists as well.
Júnior has been the real deal for this club and complements Mbappé well.

A look at Al Hilal
Al Hilal sits with a record of 23-6-5, which is good enough for second place in the Saudi Pro League. Not only do they lead the league in goals (95), but also in shots on goal (219).
But things have looked a little iffy with only two wins in May, when one would hope they look a little better ahead of playing the best clubs in the world in June.
Nonetheless, here they are playing against Real Madrid, whom they have some history with.
Back in 2022, Al Hilal made it to the finals of the FIBA Club World Cup, but lost in a 5-3 match with Real Madrid.
A win today could bring back a little bit of revenge, though it’s still the group stage and not the final stage.
They will play in Group H, which features Real Madrid, Pachuca and RB Salzburg.
Al Hilal players to watch
Aleksandar Mitrovic
One of four players on the team in double-digit goals, Mitrovic is the leading player with 19 of his own, which also ranks sixth in the league.
Since joining Al Hilal in 2023, he’s been one of the more technically sound players on the club, and has recorded 47 goals through 51 appearances, nearly a goal every game.
He did his thing in May, with five goals through six matches, and will have to continue that for his team to have a good chance at winning.
Marcos Leonardo
Leonardo is one of the club’s best when it comes to doing what is asked of him.
Tying for seventh in the league in goals (17), right behind Mitrovic, Leonardo has been balling since joining the team last year, with 17 goals through 24 appearances.
