Prosecution tries to tie Walshe’s apparent purchase of hacksaw, hatchet to wife’s death

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The murder trial of Brian Walshe continues Tuesday with testimony expected from a forensic scientist.

On Monday, items found in Walshe’s Cohasset home were discussed, including unused plastic buckets and hydrogen peroxide.

A photo of the home’s carpet was presented by the prosecution in an attempt to link the item to others found in the trash compactor, according to authorities.

Surveillance footage from multiple businesses was also presented, with some showing clear shots of Walshe’s face.

Footage from one store shows Walshe apparently purchasing a hacksaw, hatchet, mop, buckets, cleaner and rags.

Walshe’s wife Ana disappeared around New Year’s Day in 2023, and police and prosecutors say that Walshe murdered her and dismembered her body.

Ana Walshe’s remains have not been found.
