Early risers in the metro area will wake to drizzle and occasional showers Wednesday before rain becomes steadier by the afternoon.
The National Weather Service reports moisture with this most recent system has been on the low side with less than 0.15 inches of rain recorded in the valleys from late Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday. Wednesday’s rain will be more robust, and an additional half inch is possible in the metro area.
Portlanders should expect rain through the evening rush hour and a high temperature of about 53 degrees.
The next front to impact the region arrives overnight and into Thanksgiving. This will bring another round of widespread rain and breezy winds.
Portland will see a wet Thanksgiving with wind gusts of 20-25 mph likely. There’s even a 40-60% chances of peak gusts of 30 mph. The high temp will reach near 54 degrees.
Rain is possible Friday morning, but a ridge of high pressure will begin to build during the day keeping most showers at bay by the afternoon. Skies will stay mostly cloudy, and the high will be near 55 degrees.
Forecast models are now in better agreement about the weekend weather.
Saturday has a slight chance of rain, but high pressure should keep Portland mostly dry. The high temp will reach near 51 degrees.
Clearer skies and some incoming cold air will drop overnight lows into the upper 30s. Outlying areas may see some frost before 8 a.m. Sunday. But otherwise, the day should be partly sunny with a cool high of only 49 degrees.
Temps could be even colder early Monday with a 20-50% chance of freezing temps, especially in wind-sheltered areas and typical cold spots outside of urban areas. Chances of freezing temps increase between Corvallis and Eugene early Monday.
