WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) held its annual Law Enforcement Recognition Breakfast on Friday at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.
The event, hosted by the Tori Lynn Andreozzi Foundation, honors police officers and community members around the state for their DUI prevention efforts.
Among them was John Tassoni Jr., who received the Media Champion award for Recovery TV, which aims to help people struggling with substance use and mental health issues. The locally produced show airs every weekend on WPRI 12, FOX Providence, myRITV and The CW Providence.

The breakfast was emceed by 12 News anchor Shannon Hegy, who spoke about Linda Sherman, the North Kingstown woman who was hit and killed by a drunk driver in June 2024. A memorial bench for Sherman was recently installed at North Kingstown Town Beach.
