The Rangers took Friday night’s opener of a three-game weekend set in Pittsburgh, where they jumped Pirates starter Mike Burrows early to give ace Jacob deGrom all the support he needed. The right-hander gave up five hits and two runs with seven strikeouts over six quality innings to improve to 7-2 this season with a 2.24 ERA that ranks as sixth-best in baseball.
