LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run crash in the east Las Vegas valley Wednesday night.

Around 10:20 p.m., Metro police responded to the area of Stewart Avenue and Pecos Road after a report of a pedestrian hit.

Police said a vehicle was driving eastbound on Stewart Avenue, approaching Mojave Road when it struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian later succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The suspected vehicle involved in the crash left the scene before officers arrived and was still outstanding as of 11 p.m. Wednesday.

All eastbound lanes on Stewart Avenue were closed at Mojave Road, according to RTC Southern Nevada,
