BLACKFOOT — A man died Tuesday evening after being hit by a juvenile driving a minivan in Bingham County.

It happened around 6:45 p.m. in the area of 100 West and Mitchell Road.

The male driver of the minivan struck a 47-year-old man who was on foot, according to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. A man who witnessed the incident stopped and performed CPR on the victim, who was eventually transported to Bingham Memorial Hospital, where he passed away.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the accident and names of those involved have not been released.

“Our current objective is to simply let the family and friends of all those involved in this tragedy know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please find comfort in one another and may His comfort find you in these difficult times,” a sheriff’s office Facebook post says.
