One teenager killed in Lincoln County rollover crash

LINCOLN COUNTY, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is investigating a fatal crash involving five individuals.

On Oct. 22, LCSO deputies responded to the rollover crash on West South River Road.

Five teenagers, ranging from ages 14 to 18 years old, were in a Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling westbound when the driver lost control while on a curve in the road.

According to LCSO, the vehicle rolled multiple times in the ditch, ejecting four of the five teenagers. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not ejected.

When deputies arrived, they rendered aid to the injured teenagers.

One of the occupants was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other occupants were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but were in stable condition.

Around 3:30 p.m., LCSO said they were notified that the male occupant transported with life-threatening injuries had passed away.

According to LCSO, alcohol was not believed to be involved but speed was.

The investigation is ongoing.
