With scoring from many sources, the Old Dominion women dominated the first half Wednesday night and went on to defeat struggling Louisiana 72-61 in Lafayette.
Simaru Fields scored 12 points, Mariah Clayton 11, Riley Stack 10, Dalanna Carter nine, Kelsey Thompson eight and Nakiyah Allen seven to provide the bulk of ODU’s offense. Stack had eight rebounds and two steals.
The Monarchs (14-10, 6-6 Sun Belt) overcame a big game by the Ragin’ Cajuns’ Mikaylah Manley, who had 27 points and six rebounds. She was the only player in double figures for Louisiana (2-21, 1-12).
ODU scored 11 unanswered points bridging the first and second quarters to go ahead 29-13, and it was 39-23 at the half. ODU led by double digits in the great majority of the second half.
Shenandoah 67, Virginia Wesleyan 60: Despite Brianna Long’s 32 points and 12 rebounds for VWU, the Hornets (15-5, 7-4 ODAC) defeated the Marlins (11-9, 5-6) in Winchester.
Also for Virginia Wesleyan, Sydney Turner had 10 points and five rebounds, and Keira Bagwell had eight points, four rebounds and three steals.
Shenandoah’s Brynna Nesselrodt was 5 for 9 from 3-point range and scored 22 points. Addisyn Banks had 17 points, six rebounds, six assists and three blocks.
A 12-2 run to start the second quarter gave Shenandoah a 27-14 lead. VWU pulled to 54-50 with 6:44 left in the game but got no closer.
No. 1 Connecticut 86, DePaul 40: Azzi Fudd scored 25 points in Chicago as UConn won its 40th straight game dating to last season, routing DePaul. Sarah Strong added 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The Huskies (24-0, 13-0 Big East) have won 19 straight by at least 25 points, the longest streak by a Division I team over the past 25 years.
DePaul (5-20, 2-12) got 10 points from former Princess Anne High star Michelle Ojo, a graduate student who played one season for George Washington and then three for Delaware.
No. 2 UCLA 86, Rutgers 46: Kiki Rice had 17 points and seven rebounds, and UCLA (22-1, 12-0 Big Ten) romped in Los Angeles for its 16th consecutive victory. Lauryn Swann led Rutgers (9-14, 1-11) with 14 points.
No. 8 Michigan 88, Nebraska 76: Syla Swords scored 28 points and Olivia Olson had 21 for the host Wolverines (20-3, 11-1 Big Ten), who went on a 15-6 run to take a nine-point lead early in the fourth quarter. Michigan has won a school-record nine straight Big Ten games.
The Cornhuskers (16-7, 5-7) fell to 0-6 against AP Top 25 teams.
East Carolina 64, South Florida 62: Former Hampton High and Smithfield star Jayla Hearp scored 18 points as the Pirates (17-7, 9-2 American) overcame a 14-point deficit to beat the Bulls (13-10, 6-4) in Greenville, North Carolina. ECU sank its last seven free throws.
Longwood 88, Radford 73, OT: Frances Ulysse had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Otaifo Esenabhalu posted a career-high 18 points to go with 14 rebounds for the Lancers (16-6, 7-2) in Farmville as they overtook the Highlanders (15-10, 7-3) in the Big South standings.
After Radford’s Angelina Nice hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime at 69-69, Longwood scored the next 10 points.
James Madison 83, Southern Miss 72: Lake Taylor High graduate Ashanti Barnes scored 10 points in the fourth quarter for the Dukes (17-8, 9-4 Sun Belt) in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists, and Princess Anne High alumna Zakiya Stephenson had 10 points and five assists for JMU against the Golden Eagles (12-11, 5-7).
Richmond 92, Saint Louis 44: Rachel Ullstrom’s 16 points paced the Spiders (19-4, 9-1 Atlantic 10) in a rout of the Billikens (11-14, 5-7) in Missouri. UR’s Tierra Simon had 12 points and 10 rebounds against her former team.

Meredith 55, Regent 40: The Avenging Angels (3-14) outplayed the Royals (3-14) in Raleigh, North Carolina, though Kennedy Shipman scored a game-high 19 points and Mikaylah Telfer grabbed 12 rebounds and had five steals.
Grassfield High graduate Amara Groth set a Regent freshman record by reaching 24 3-pointers for the season. She had two against Meredith, which was led by Molly Zuburg’s 16 points.

Virginia Wesleyan 90, Shenandoah 55: The Marlins (14-5, 9-1) maintained first place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference by dominating the Hornets (11-10, 4-7) at TowneBank Arena.
VWU enjoyed exceptional offensive balance. Malcolm Velmar scored 14 points, Amari Moorer 13, TJ East 12 and Khai Seargeant 12. East snagged nine rebounds, and Moorer had eight rebounds and six assists. Omari DeVeaux had nine points, five assists and three rebounds.
Shenandoah’s John Allen hit 5 of 6 shots and had 14 points and eight rebounds. Ellis Wright, from Western Branch High, had six points.
Apprentice 79, Mid-Atlantic Christian 71: The Builders (12-7, 4-2 New South Athletic Conference) went to Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and won by outscoring the Mustangs 53-41 in the second half. MACU fell to 7-10, 3-1.
Jahlil Hope had 23 points for Apprentice, which is ranked sixth in U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Division I. Jabari Brackett scored 17, Wayne Hedgepath had 10 points and Devon Brown had eight points, 13 rebounds and two steals. The Builders outrebounded the Mustangs 38-25.
The Williams twins led MACU. Tyus scored 17 and Terrence 16.
No. 20 Clemson 66, Stanford 64: Nick Davidson made a pair of free throws with 24.9 seconds left to put his team ahead and had a team-high 16 points to go with seven rebounds for the Tigers (19-4, 9-1 ACC).
Clemson won its 13th straight conference road game dating to 2024-25 — the fourth-longest streak in ACC history and tied for the longest in the league in the last 25 years.
Aidan Cammann scored 19 points for Stanford (14-9, 3-7) while freshman Ebuka Okorie had 18. The Cardinal lost their fifth game in a row.
No. 24 Louisville 76, Notre Dame 65: Ryan Conwell scored 12 points, including seven during a 15-1 second-half surge, and Khani Rooths added 12 off the bench for the host Cardinals (16-6, 6-4 Atlantic Coast Conference). Cole Certa scored 18 points and sank five 3s for the Irish (11-12, 2-8).
California 90, Georgia Tech 85: Former Virginia Cavalier Dai Dai Ames scored a career-high 29 points for Cal (17-6, 5-5), which survived squandering a double-digit lead in Berkeley in what could have been a costly loss for its NCAA hopes.
John Camden had 15 points, Chris Bell scored 14 points, and Justin Pippen finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Cal. Akai Fleming led Georgia Tech (11-12, 2-8) with 19 points, 15 in the second half. Baye Ndongo had 10 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.
No. 5 Illinois 84, Northwestern 44: Andrej Stojakovic scored 17 points and the Illini made 17 3-pointers in a home win.
Keaton Wagler, Zvonimir Ivisic and Ben Humrichous each had 13 points for Illinois (20-3, 11-1 Big Ten), which won its 12th straight game. Wagler, whose 19th birthday was Tuesday, has scored in double figures in 15 straight games.
Northwestern’s Nick Martinelli, the Big Ten’s leading scorer, had just four points, 19 under his average. His team had just one turnover but shot 29% and was outrebounded 50-23.
Portland 87, No. 6 Gonzaga 80: Joel Foxwell scored 27 points, helping give the Pilots (11-14, 4-8 West Coast Conference) their first victory ever over a top-10 team and snapping the Bulldogs’ 15-game winning streak. Portland, in ending a three-game slide, also ended a 20-game Gonzaga winning streak in the series. The Pilots were 21 1/2-point underdogs, according to BetMGM Sportsbook.
Graham Ike had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Gonzaga (22-2, 10-1), which had won 14 straight conference games.
No. 8 Houston 79, Central Florida 55: Kingston Flemings had 18 points and six assists, Chris Cenac Jr. added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and the Cougars (20-2, 8-1 Big 12) took a 33-19 lead into halftime. The Cougars won their 17th straight at home and have won 50 of their last 51 home games.
UCF (17-5, 6-4) had won three in a row but didn’t have a double-digit scorer.
Minnesota 76, No. 10 Michigan State 73: Jaylen Crocker-Johnson had 22 points and seven rebounds, Cade Tyson scored 17 points and Langston Reynolds added 14 points and eight assists for the host Gophers (11-12, 4-8 Big Ten), who broke a seven-game losing streak despite being outscored 22-9 over the final four minutes. They were 7 1/2 point underdogs, according to MGM Sportsbook.
Coen Carr had 10 of his 16 points for the Spartans (19-4, 9-3) in the last three minutes.
Oklahoma State 99, No. 16 Brigham Young 92: Anthony Roy scored a season-high 30 points, and Oklahoma State (16-6, 4-5 Big 12) overcame a stellar performance by freshman sensation AJ Dybantsa in Stillwater.
Dybantsa showed why he’s expected to be one of the first players chosen in the 2026 NBA draft. The 6-foot-9 forward had 36 points and seven rebounds. He made five 3-pointers, but the Cougars (17-5, 5-4) lost their third consecutive game.
Jaylen Curry scored 18 points and Vyctorius Miller added 14 for the Cowboys.
Duquesne 71, George Mason 65: Alex Williams led Duquesne with 25 points and David Dixon made a key layup with 41 seconds left as the Dukes (13-10, 5-5 Atlantic 10) upset the Patriots (20-3, 8-2) in Fairfax, dropping George Mason into a second-place tie with VCU. Dixon and Jimmie Williams scored 13 points apiece.
The Patriots (20-3, 8-2) were led by Riley Allenspach, who finished with 18 points and seven rebounds. Jahari Long added 17 points.
Liberty 75, Delaware 69: Colin Porter had 23 points (17 in the second half) and five rebounds for the Flames (19-3, 11-0 Conference USA), who extended their winning streak to 13 with a victory in Newark, Delaware. Josh Smith scored 14 points and JJ Harper had 13.
The Blue Hens (6-16, 2-9) were led by Justyn Fernandez, who recorded 21 points and four assists.
Louisiana 64, James Madison 61: Dorian Finister scored 18 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds left before 4,140 in Harrisonburg, for the Ragin’ Cajuns (8-16, 6-6 Sun Belt). He also had six rebounds, and teammates Dariyus Woodson and De’Vion Lavergne had 14 points apiece.
The Dukes (11-13, 4-8) were led by Cliff Davis, who finished with 12 points and two steals. Kose Egbule had season-highs in points (12), rebounds (five) and assists (four).
Longwood 86, Gardner-Webb 66: Johan Nziemi had 20 points for the Lancers (13-12, 5-5) in their road win, while Elijah Tucker scored 16 points and Jacoi Hutchinson had 15. Jamias Ferere led the Runnin’ Bulldogs (3-21, 1-8) with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Winthrop 80, Radford 78: Logan Duncomb had 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for the visiting Eagles (17-8, 9-1 Big South), and he scored a tie-breaking tip-in with 2 seconds to go.
For the Highlanders (13-12, 6-4), Del Jones had 21 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Dennis Parker Jr. had 20 points and five rebounds.
Wofford 81, VMI 67: Cayden Vasko had 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Terriers (16-8, 8-3 Southern Conference) in Lexington as they extended VMI’s slide to nine straight.
The Keydets (6-18, 1-10) were led by TJ Johnson, who posted 25 points and 12 rebounds. Tan Yildizoglu added 13 points and four assists.
Navy 65, Lafayette 50: Reserve Donovan Draper had 17 points and seven rebounds for the first-place Midshipmen (18-6, 10-1 Patriot League) in Easton, Pennsylvania, as they etended their winning streak to six. Aidan Kehoe had 16 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
Caleb Williams led the Leopards (7-17, 4-7) with 13 points and five assists.
Colgate 69, Army 55: Ben Tweedy scored 16 points and Andrew Alekseyenko scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds to help the Raiders (14-10, 8-3 Patriot League) win in Hamilton, New York. The Black Knights (10-14, 4-7) were led by Jaxson Bell, who finished with 18 points and four steals.

Mary Baldwin 85, Regent 78: Despite a career-high 16 points by senior Joshua Vogt, the Royals (3-17) lost to the Fighting Squirrels (9-10) in Staunton. Regent trailed throughout the second half from margins between two and 13 points.
Also for Regent, Grant Worley had 11 points and fellow Grassfield High alum Chauncey Gilliam had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Mary Baldwin’s Jamal Ukaegbu had 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Raymond Benton had 19 points.
