James D. Dow

PORTLAND – We are sad to report that James D. Dow passed away on Oct. 7, 2025, in Portland. He was the eighth child of Harold M. Dow and Annie D. Connors, born July 16, 1940, in Allagash. He married Wilda J. Libby in 1962.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Wilda and his sons: James Jr., Terry (Carmen), Joseph (Yonghui) and David, by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War, Germany, Korea, and Okinawa. He then worked for the State of Maine until final retirement.

He was an early computer tech person, family history researcher, repaired watches, ham radio operator, and also loved to fish, canoe and play guitar and sing with his wife. He especially loved to spend time in the Allagash/St. Francis area where he spent his early years.

A memorial service is planned for Spring, 2026.
