Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The rains couldn’t stop Oakes Post 36 as they beat Enderlin Post 221 7-2 in spite of 52 minutes of a rain delay.
The game started with Michael Hoistad on the bump for Oakes and Ethan Cimbura for Enderlin. The first delay would happen in the bottom of the first inning and would last for 4 minutes before the game would begin again. Oakes would get the scoring started in the bottom of the 1st with Chris Titus reaching on an error then a couple wild pitches would bring him home. Oakes would continue in the 2nd with 2 more runs as Cole Fyre would scoring on a James Throener fielders choice. Throener then would get to 2nd base on a pick off error and then the game would be delayed due to the rain.
The game would pick up again 48 minutes later and Harry Neustel would drive home Throener with a ground rule double making it 3-0. Oakes would score again in the 3rd with Tristan Peterson scoring when Jack Thorpe grounded towards 3rd and reached on an E5 to make it 4-0. Enderlin would score in he 4th inning on a E3 with Avery Finger grounding it to 2nd with 1 out and reaching on the error making it 4-1. Oakes would score again in the 4th with Zade Heier doubling in Titus to make it 5-1 with Heier being thrown out between 2nd and 3rd to end the inning. The lead would get to 7-1 in the 6th inning with Titus scoring on a Neustel double and Neustel scoring on a Heier single. Enderlin would score one more run on a Cimbura sac fly but Hoistad would get the complete game win at 7-2.
The Bank North Player of the Game was Hoistad who went the complete game with 3 hits, 5 BB, 6 K’s, and 2 ER.
