North Olmsted voters add new finance director, retain familiar City Council and school board faces

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — North Olmsted City voters on Election Day decided the finance director and Ward 3 races.

Challenger Keegan Radeff (2,830 votes) defeated longtime North Olmsted Director of Finance Carrie B. Copfer (2,705 votes), according to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Also, Ward 3 Councilwoman Mary Gilchrist (889 votes) was reelected over Terry Smith (603 votes).

Incumbents running unopposed include Council President Lou Brossard (3,997 votes), Law Director Michael R. Gareau Jr. (4,013 votes), Ward 1’s Christopher F. Scarl (1,037 votes) and Ward 2’s Matthew G. Marrie (991 votes).

In Ward 4, candidate Maureen F. Carr (883 votes) ran unopposed.

The council seats are for a four-year term and carry an annual salary of $15,913.

Regarding the North Olmsted City Schools, incumbents Gina Lehmann (3,616 votes) and Daniel H. Rahm (2,695 votes), as well as newcomer Mohammad Alhawawsha (2,091 votes), were elected to three open seats, according to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Also, incumbent Terry Groden (3,680 votes) ran unopposed for a two-year term.

Board members earn $125 per meeting with total annual compensation capped at $5,000.
