No. 6 Ole Miss trounces The Citadel in college football

Mississippi quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns and the Rebels scored on six of their first seven offensive possessions to cruise past The Citadel 49-0 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss., on Nov. 8.

Chambliss completed 29 of 33 passes and threw TD passes of 1, 11 and 22 yards on the afternoon.

Ole Miss (9-1) rolled up 603 yards of total offense while limiting The Citadel (4-6) to just 106 yards, including only 83 on the ground.

“Let’s be honest, that a very good football team,” said The Citadel coach Maurice Drayton. “They are not ranked where they are for no reason — they are very good on both sides of the football.”

The Bulldogs had two chances to put points on the scoreboard but missed two field goal opportunities.
