New Mexico Supreme Court takes up removal case over embattled McKinley County DA

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Supreme Court is now taking up the case aimed at removing embattled McKinley County District Attorney Bernadine Martin from office. New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez has moved to oust Martin over claims she created a hostile work environment, failed to work with witnesses, or issue subpoenas in a timely fashion. She’s also accused of poor financial management over the office.

The New Mexico Supreme Court has now issued an order accepting jurisdiction over the petition. The court is now directing the parties to submit briefs addressing legal questions in the case.
