LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Anti-Defamation League released its third annual campus antisemitism report on Tuesday.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln received a ‘C’ grade when it comes to the quality of life on campus for Jewish students.
“The third bucket, which is equally as important, is way below expectations, and that’s publicly disclosed administrative action,” said Rebecca Weininger, the Senior Regional Director for ADL Midwest.
The grade was obtained from a survey sent to UNL students and groups.
“We want to make sure Jewish students are protected from discrimination that evolves whenever Israel is in the news in any way,” said Weininger.
The results show that Jewish life on campus and campus conduct thrive, but Nebraska falls short on public policy.
ADL took several incidents into account, but they said there is room for improvement.
“It would be really helpful to see antisemitism included in the Codes of Conduct and policies,” said Weininger. “It would be great to see an advisory council, to address specifically antisemitism and to support Jewish life. And to have mandatory antisemitism education for students and faculty.”
UNL sent a statement to Channel 8 regarding the report:
