Nevada high school basketball playoff roundup 3A, 2A 1A scores

The Meadows’ boys basketball team defeated Pahrump Valley 69-29 in a Class 3A Southern Region semifinal at Pahrump Valley on Friday night.

The Meadows (21-6), the No. 1 seed, will play Virgin Valley at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pahrump Valley for the region title, which will also determine seeding for next week’s 3A state tournament at Fernley High.

Alex Hutchison scored 16 points to lead The Meadows. Pahrump Valley, the No. 5 seed, finishes 11-16.

No. 2 Virgin Valley 66, No. 3 Boulder City 44: At Pahrump Valley, the Bulldogs (20-4) cruised past the Eagles (18-11) in a 3A Southern Region semifinal.

Girls

No. 3 Boulder City 46, No. 2 Coral Academy 42: Kyra Stevens scored 13 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and helped the Eagles hold off a late rally from Coral Academy in a Class 3A Southern Region semifinal Friday at Pahrump Valley.

Makenzie Martorano had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles.

Boulder City (16-13) will play Virgin Valley (20-7) for the region title at noon Saturday at Pahrump Valley, which will also determine seeding for next week’s 3A state tournament at Fernley High. Coral Academy finishes 18-6.

Virgin Valley, the No. 1 seed, defeated Pahrump Valley 61-16 in the other region semifinal. Pahrump Valley, the No. 4 seed, finishes 14-12.

Class 2A

Girls

No. 2 Lincoln County 57, No. 3 White Pine 21: At Faith Lutheran, the Lynx (22-4) rolled past White Pine (20-6) in a 2A Southern Region semifinal.

Lincoln County will play Needles, the No. 1 seed, for the region title at noon Saturday at Faith Lutheran, which will also determine seeding for next week’s state tournament at Wooster High in Reno.

Needles (15-6) defeated No. 5 American Heritage 58-16 in the other semifinal. American Heritage finishes 10-11.

Boys

No. 1 Needles 93, No. 4 White Pine 54: At Faith Lutheran, the Mustangs (21-3) cruised past the Bobcats (12-14) in a 2A Southern Region semifinal.

Needles will play Lake Mead Academy, the No. 2 seed, for the region title at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran, which will also determine seeding for next week’s state tournament at Wooster High in Reno.

Lake Mead Academy (15-8) defeated No. 3 Founders Academy 66-49 in the other semifinal. Founders Academy finishes 11-6.
