8:30 a.m. Update: The Iowa DOT is reported a mutli-vehicle crash that is backing up eastbound traffic heading toward downtown. That crash is blocking the right shoulder of I-235 just east of 50th Street. First responders are on scene. More students across Central Iowa head back to school today, so expect an increase in traffic during the morning commute, but as of 7:10 a.m. there are no incidents or delays to report according to the Iowa DOT. I-35/80 Overnight Closure Tonight, I-35/80 southbound lanes will shut down from Meredith Drive to University Avenue. The closure will begin at 10 p.m. and last through 4 a.m. tomorrow morning.
