Morrow’s hat trick leads Panthers to win

Russellville freshman Randall Morrow tallied a hat trick with three goals to lead the homestanding Panthers to a 4-0 boys’ soccer win against Grayson County on Tuesday.

Alex Arnold also scored a goal, and Noah Harris and Braxton Coleman each provided an assist in the win.

Goalkeeper Samuel Sinclair made four saves to preserve the shutout for Russellville (4-9), which hosts Muhlenberg County on Thursday.

Barren County 4, Butler County 3

Host Barren County claimed a 4-3 win against Butler County on Tuesday.

Jonathan Portillo scored all three goals for a hat trick for the Bears in the loss. Jesus Franscisco chipped in with an assist.

Butler County (6-7-1) faces host Grayson County in the District 11 semifinals Thursday.

Barren County (8-6-2) is home to play Greenwood on Thursday.

Glasgow 8, Clinton County 1

Jared Malagon produced a hat trick with three goals and added a pair of assists to spark host Glasgow to an 8-1 win against Clinton County on Tuesday.

Isaiah Ramos finished with two goals and an assist, Ronaldo Puldon had one goal and one assist, Raul Rangel-Ponce and Johan Bonilla Milla each scored a goal, Siddha Patel added two assists and Owen Travis had one assist for the Scotties.

Goalkeeper Keaton Smith made three saves for Glasgow (10-8-3), which was scheduled to host Warren Central on Wednesday.

Girls’ soccer

Edmonson County 1, Hart County 0

Lillian Lindsey scored a goal off an assist from Brylee Goins to boost host Edmonson County to a 1-0 win against Hart County on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Haley Shields finished with 12 saves to preserve the shutout for Edmonson County (2-11), which will host Butler County in the District 11 semifinals Thursday.

Franklin-Simpson 8, Apollo 1

Kami Steward and Addy McKinney each scored four goals and tallied two assists in Franklin-Simpson’s 8-1 win against Apollo on Tuesday.

Cathy Lara provided two assists, and Audrie Hardin and MacKenzie Davidson each had one assist for the Lady Wildcats.

Goalkeeper Cecilia Huggins finished with seven saves for Franklin-Simpson (17-1), which wrapped up regular-season play with the win.

Glasgow 8, Clinton County 0

Maria Ramos scored three goals for a hat trick to lead host Glasgow to an 8-0 win against Clinton County on Tuesday.

Aniston Young added two goals, Ava England finished with one goal and one assist, and Ladeja Driver and Madeline Neuhaus each scored a goal.

Goalkeepers Avery Elmore and Driver combined on the shutout for Glasgow (12-4-1) which wrapped up the regular season.

TCC 2, ACS 1

Todd County Central claimed a 2-1 win against visiting Allen County-Scottsville on Tuesday.

Dani Miller scored an unassisted for the Lady Patriots in the loss.

Goalkeeper Autumn Keith made 15 saves for ACS (9-9-1), which is home against East Robertson (Tennessee) on Thursday.

Girls’ volleyball

Butler County 3, Trinity (Whitesville) 2

Miley Franzell delivered 21 kills and 14 blocks to lead visiting Butler County to a 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 15-12) win against District 12 rival Trinity (Whitesville) on Tuesday.

Jenelle Kimmel had nine kills, 14 blocks and six digs for the Lady Bears. Madison Jones added 36 digs, 34 assists, six blocks and four aces, Megan Clark had 22 digs, four kills and three aces, Samantha Johnson had 55 digs, Evana Martin had 21 digs and Delaney Newcom finished with 14 digs in the win.

Butler County (10-21, 2-3 District 12) is home against Cloverport on Oct. 13.
