Arkansas State Police on Wednesday arrested a Morrilton man who investigators say had plans to meet a Texas child, and charged him with stalking and possession of child sexual abuse material.
Authorities arrested Collin Cormier, 23, at his Morrilton home after investigators found evidence he’d been messaging the child sexually explicit content and was making arrangements to meet up, according to a state police news release.
The investigation began after authorities got a tip from the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children that came from Microsoft, which had located 100 images depicting child sexual abuse connected to Cormier, the release states.
Authorities, including agents from U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, seized multiple devices from Cormier’s home that are still being forensically analyzed by investigators, the release states.
Cormier was booked in the Conway County jail on one count of Internet stalking of a child and three of possession of child pornography, the release states. He posted a $75,000 bond on Wednesday, court records showed, although Judge Jerry Don Ramey of the 15th Judicial Circuit ordered the case sealed on Thursday.
