Scattered showers and storms developed mostly over mountain areas and may affect some places through the evening. The Albuquerque area should stay mainly quiet, with a quiet night expected.
On Sunday, a few showers and storms will start to pop up by afternoon and evening. Rain chances in Albuquerque may be around 20% after about 5:00 p.m. and high temperatures will be in the lower 90s.
Some spots around the state could see heavy rain with a shower or storm on Sunday. Rain chances may also increase a bit in northwestern New Mexico.
Labor Day outlook
Similar conditions are expected for Labor Day on Monday. A few showers and storms could become heavy in spots by afternoon, while rain chances stay around 20 to 30% near Albuquerque.
The monsoon will stay active most of the upcoming week with daily chances for showers and storms that could be heavy in spots. The best chances for rain will be mostly over the central and western parts of the state.
High temperatures will remain warmer than average for this time of year.
