A Missouri public relations firm is offering advice after a viral Coldplay concert kiss cam clip showed a tech CEO and HR head cuddling, sparking controversy.

Amy Jordan Wooden, owner of AJW Consulting in Kansas City told Missourinet, first off, it’s a terrible idea to have an affair with somebody in your company.

“And you definitely don’t have an affair with someone in your employment that reports up to you,” said Wooden. “And I think that the company was wise to accept the CEO’s resignation in this instance because the Internet was broken on this one. It’s going to be pretty difficult to bounce back with any level of credibility for that company.”

Wooden told Missourinet, about the rule of thumb when she does crisis training.

“The camera is always rolling and the MIC is always hot,” Wooden said. “We saw that in full force, obviously at the Coldplay concert. If you are out and about and you are representing your company, if you are in any one’s suite, you ought to behave as if the camera is always rolling and the mic is always hot.”

Wooden told Missourinet, this is what she might tell the former CEO if he reached out to her company for advice.

“Well, I might ask instead for his spouses phone number and see if I can help that person out instead, but I think you have to go quietly in the night, right, said Wooden.”  “You have made a terrible error that is impacted your family. That is the real tragedy here.”

Wooden said the company should now try to shift the focus away from the former CEO and back to its core values and mission and what it is there to do.
