Southwest Missouri Congressman Eric Burlison is expressing skepticism over the U.S. Justice Department’s report that Jeffrey Epstein did not keep a list of high-profile clients and that he killed himself in his jail cell nearly six years ago.
Epstein was accused of sex trafficking underage girls and was being held in a New York jail when he was found dead in his jail cell in August of 2019.
Burlison, a Republican, made a series of social media posts on X (formerly Twitter). The first one, from Monday, July 7th, reads:
“You’re telling me that the FBI can’t find any communications or connections to others involved?! There is something rotten here,” Burlison wrote, which included a link to an ABC News article.
He followed that up with the following posts on Tuesday:

Then four hours later:
Jeffrey Epstein didn’t traffic himself.
The DOJ just closed the case and no client list, no accountability, and now a missing minute of surveillance footage.
The American people aren’t stupid.
The victims deserve justice. Not another cover-up.

“Time to drop the really big bomb,” Musk wrote on X last month. “[Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.”
The White House criticized the allegations and said the attempt is to sow division within the cabinet.
