Minnesota soldier killed in Kuwait during Iran conflict

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KVRR/FOX) — The Pentagon has identified four Army Reserve soldiers killed in a drone strike on a command center in Kuwait, bringing the total U.S. deaths in the Iran operations to six.

One of those soldiers is from Minnesota.

39-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor lived was from White Bear Lake.

She enlisted in the National Guard in 2005 and transferred to the Army Reserve in 2006 and deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in 2019.

Others killed were 20 year-old Sgt. Declan Coady of Des Moines, Iowa.

42-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens of Bellevue, Nebraska.

And Capt. Cody Khork of Winter Haven, Florida who was 35.

They were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command in Des Moines and were killed just a day after the U.S. and Israel launched its military campaign against Iran, which launched retaliatory strikes.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar released the following statement on the death of Sergeant First Class Nicole M. Amor:

“John and I join with people across our state and our country in mourning Sgt. First Class Nicole Amor of White Bear Lake. Our hearts are with her family, loved ones, and all those in our armed forces. Sgt. Amor made the ultimate sacrifice serving our nation, and we are forever indebted to her.”

 Sen. Tina Smith released the following statement:

“Archie and I are so sorry for the tragic loss and ultimate sacrifice of Minnesota’s Sgt. First Class Nicole Amor in service of our country. We offer our deepest condolences to Nicole’s family and loved ones and pledge our support at this heartbreaking time.”
