Milford Police Arrest Dover Man for Burglary

MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department has arrested a Dover man for burglary and related charges following a domestic incident that occurred last month.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Deberson Jean Baptiste on charges of second degree burglary, breach of bond conditions, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal mischief by means of property damage under $1,000. At his arraignment, a magistrate revoked his previous bond and issued an additional $14,100 secured bond with a no contact order with the victims in this case. Jean Baptiste was turned over the Department of Correction with a future court date in Sussex County.

On Monday, Aug. 3, police took Jean Baptiste into custody after he was wanted in connection with charges stemming from a domestic incident that occurred on Jul. 18 in the 200 block of Columbia Street in Milford. Their investigation revealed that Jean Baptiste unlawfully entered and remained in the victim’s residence without permission. While inside, Jean Baptiste allegedly damaged the victim’s property.

Officers learned that Jean Baptiste committed these acts while in sight and within earshot of children inside the residence. Further, it was also revealed that Jean Baptiste was out on bond regarding another domestic related case involving the same victim when the July incident occurred.
