Mersier changes plea in killing of Ansu Kamara in Minot

MINOT, ND (KXNET) — A man charged with the killing of another man in Minot changed his plea in court on Tuesday.

Quantdre Mersier pleaded guilty to murder in Ward County court. He was arrested for the death of Ansu Kamara.

The incident happened at an apartment in Minot in November 2023. Investigators looked at Ring camera video that police used to identify Mersier.

Mersier left North Dakota and was then arrested in Indiana before being sent back to North Dakota to face trial.

A judge on Tuesday ordered a pre-sentence investigation for Mersier.

He faces up to life in prison. Mersier’s sentencing is scheduled to happen on October 24th.
