First Lady Melania Trump is traveling to Baton Rouge to attend the LSU-Alabama football game Saturday and to advance her university scholarship initiative.
The First Lady and LSU have secured $5 million to establish a permanent endowment fund supporting “Fostering the Future” scholarships for LSU students who have been in foster care, according to a press release from the Office of the First Lady.
Trump will attend this week’s LSU football game, where a “groundbreaking Fostering the Future campaign will activate across the campus and on the field,” the press release states.
The initiative, launched in 2021, secures scholarship opportunities at colleges and universities across the nation for individuals within the foster care community. More than 20 schools across the country, including Vanderbilt University, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina and more offer these types of scholarships, according to Trump’s website.
