HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — Homecoming week continues at Marshall University, and one of the most highly anticipated events is the WMUL Car Bash.
For one dollar, students can take their turns swinging a sledgehammer at a maroon car, the same color of the Herd’s opponent, Texas State. Various students said they look forward to the event every year.
“This is a really good weekend to kind of relax. We’ve not had that in a few weeks due to midterms and just that stress that comes along with being a student, being in the rut of the middle of the semester, and then, you know, of course some students have, you know, midweek semester classes starting, so this is just the perfect time to do it,” WMUL FM News Executive Producer Emma Johnson.
Homecoming activities continued throughout the day and will culminate with the Herd taking on Texas State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
