Marshall gets a resounding upset win over Old Dominion 48-24

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) – The Marshall Thundering Herd were licking their wounds after their loss to Louisiana a couple of weeks ago, but after a week off, the two-touchdown underdogs from Huntington made a statement by defeating Old Dominion back at Joan C. Edwards Stadium, 48-24.

Marshall made two goal line stops on fourth down for 0 Old Dominion points, and Boogie Trotter intercepted QB Colton Joseph and ran it back for a touchdown in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead.

Old Dominion responded with a 71 yard connection from Joseph to Tre Brown III to tie the game at 7, but Marshall would score the next 24 points, and take a 48-10 lead in the fourth quarter.

Carlos Del Rio-Wilson did it all for Marshall, as he passed for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns, and ran for another 95 yards and two more touchdowns.

Marshall improves to 3-3, and will face Texas State for homecoming on October 18 at 3:30.
