Two motorcyclists headed north on Interstate 95 in Sidney on Saturday night crashed, leaving one dead and the other injured.
Just after 5:30 p.m., Maine State Police responded to reports of two crashed motorcycles near mile marker 120.
According to police, the preliminary investigation found that 61-year-old Adam Robinson of Sangerville and 28-year-old Jayson Lancaster of Carmel were driving together on the interstate. As both merged back into the right lane after passing a vehicle, the brakes on Robinson’s 2006 Harley Davidson appeared to malfunction and seize.
Robinson was ejected from the motorcycle and declared dead at the scene, state police said.
Driving near Robinson when the mechanical failure occurred, police said, Lancaster also crashed and was ejected from his motorcycle. He had minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Maine State Police ask anyone with information related to this crash to contact Trooper Keenan Blier at 207-973-3700, extension 9.
