Police are looking for a gunman who opened fire at a parking lot in the Washington Heights neighborhood, killing a 32-year-old acquaintance on Tuesday afternoon.

Antoine Alexander, 32, was at a parking lot at 9411 S. Ashland Ave. about 3:30 p.m. when someone he knows walked up to him and shot him in the abdomen, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Alexander, of the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 9:27 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

A gun was recovered from the scene, according to police.

Detectives are investigating.
