Officials have released the name of the man found dead in the Willamette River last week.
Eric Charles Meszaros, a 30-year-old from Utah, likely died “shortly after crashing his vehicle” near McLoughlin Boulevard and Railroad Avenue in Oregon City on Aug. 10, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.
Three days after the crash, a 911 caller reported seeing a body floating in the river near the Interstate 205 bridge in West Linn, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. Deputies and Clackamas Fire personnel pulled the body from the water.
Authorities said the body had no visible signs of trauma and appeared to have been in the water for some time.
Detectives do not suspect foul play but continue to investigate, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.
